Trying this again

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

Last year, I was very successful in losing the weight that I needed to with SP. I went from 231 to 202. Unfortunately, life threw me a curve with my wife and son needing specialized medical attention, which had a part in me gaining some of it back. Thankfully, my 9 month old has been medically cleared of any long lasting ailments and my wife is now a few weeks away from "returning to normal".
I have been trying to maintain a level head and focus on the good things in life, and that has keep me sane. Now that the health scares are over for the most part, I aim to refocus on my weight loss and exercising. Since I live in China, it helps that we don't own a car, and we walk/ride a bike to most places that we go.

Right now, my family and I are two months away from returning to the USA for a month before we come back home, Hopefully, I can resist the foods that I missed to much for 3 years.

I am glad to hear your family is doing better and that you will be coming home soon! Now is a great time to get back to your healthy habits so it will be easy to keep them once you return to the states.

I'm happy to hear that the health of your wife and son are improving. With the stress of their medical needs easing, hopefully you will be able to focus on your own health a bit more. It was important and helpful that you were a strong husband and father during their medical needs, now you can focus on being a healthy, happy husband and father! Good luck to you!

Thanks friends. I do get occasional massages, and veggies are in almost every dish here.

I am a believer and attend meetings , but that is a very sensitive topic in this country so I will leave it at that. : )

As for exercise, I run a 10k on my own every weekend to relieve any tension from the prior week.,

Thanks for the suggestions, I will look into them. emoticon

Wow I am sorry to hear that your family went through so much. Awesome that they are getting back on track and normal.
You could use your spare time to stretch and walk and drink green tea. I guess there is decaf. It will help with digestion and bloating and some of the stress.
Have you ever been to the chiropractor? It helps loosen your tough muscles and give you pain relief and better movement when your done. Massages are great also. Focus on your diet and say no to the bad foods snack on veggies or fruits and put them in a container so you will can grab them when your hungry and have a water bottle close by. You can get a lunch bag or pail and fill it up. It is great for trips and it will keep you from eating out.
Track your food and exercises and your activities. You will realize your not on or are on track and how you can improve when it is sitting there in front of you. You can go back when you were losing weight and read what your schedule and activities were before. See if you can recreate that time and make some changes for where you are right now and when you get home.
Get fit and happy and feel great again.
If you go to church that is a good place for peace and harmony.
Be thankful what you have and how you can move on and keep your family well and happy. When your wife is ready take a break and rekindle with her and get her to join you on your journey.
Be safe and try not to focus on the bad so much but think of how you are going to make it awesome and better for you and your family.
God Bless

Glad to hear that the health of your wife and son are getting better. Praise God for that. As far as for you, if you believe in yourself you can do it. I also struggle with this and i am learning I failed because I didnt believe in my self enough. You will do fine i am sure of it.
I also have been doing better through a study i have been doing. It's call Made to Crave, by Lysa Terkuerst. Now you can take this info. how ever you want just a suggestion..but its been really helpful to me. But its a bible study that focus's on Craving God when you are hurt, sad, depressed, lonely, bored etc. which i was very guilty of i turned to food for comfort. however its not just a bible thing either it gives healthy informations as far as what you should be eating and how to track things etc. so that being said. I wish you much luck my friend and if you ever need support I am here for you! You got this !!
