I'm kicking off my 6th SparkYear with a new plan. I want to go on a trip the last week of October and my birthday is that week too and I noticed that's exactly six months from this Friday.
I recently started weighing myself, using a consecutive button on my 5 button scale so I could keep track of my weekly loss and a vague monthly loss (by the time I get back to that same number) and decided I would continue to use that "system" to add a little excitement and take away some of the worry about more/less weekly loss than the week before (which will be on a previous button so while I could note it, I could also "ignore" it :-) I think my little brain will be thinking of the last digit rather than the whole weight from week-to-week and that might be helpful too. It's digital and does tenths of pounds too so that could be used also; if the pound digit doesn't always move down I'll know the tenth did and if the tenth moves up, well, at least the pounds did not :-)
To get serious, I'm going to have to overhaul my eating and recording of eating, etc. again and quit with the maintenance/vague count up :-) I primarily am looking to get stronger, walk better, not lose weight but would not be disappointed in a 20+ pounds loss in the 26 weeks. I love the symmetry of everything being "26", the April start date, the October end date (technically that's the 25th), the number of weeks (it is 6 months, don't know why that surprises me since half of 52 is 26 :-) and my birthday is October 26. I won't, however, be 26 years old then, LOL.
