So as I said yesterday I DID go jogging!
I had a crazy night yesterday. Got home and realized I didn't have chickpeas to make hummus. It was the only quick meal in my week's menu that I could do within half an hour, because shepherd's pie is LONG, my pasta recipe required the tofu to be marinated (wouldn't be good without it) and the other menu I promised my boyfriend I'd share with him. And I didn't feel like going to the grocery store for just a can of chickpeas so instead I did some stuff around in the apartment until I picked my friend up on the campus. Then we picked up our lease at our future janitor's apartment, and we ate at Tim Horton's. Chatted a lot and it was pretty nice, I hadn't seen her in a while with time on our hands. It was usually quick meetups for her to give me schoolwork to correct then me giving it back to her. XD
Then we got lost in the city and I couldn't find the highway to come back LOL so I only got home at 8 PM. I was still hungry - didn't have a lot at Tim's because the only "meal" I could get is a grilled cheese panini and I didn't want any dessert to fill up, all the other stuff had meat - so I ate a quick snack and I left for my jog around 8:40 after stretching. I FELT NERVOUS! Hahaha that was weird! But it felt natural to jog, like it feels natural to ride a bike after even a few years off.
I planned a 3.4 kms run, and I did it in 23 minutes. I walked (fast) on the two upgoing hills, because I had a cramp (since I just ate a snack before) but otherwise it went very well. I was hot and out of breathe but hey, 6 months without jogging and like 4 months without cardio... sure doesn't help. AND, my ankles never hurt, which is the main problem I had last year (before buying my new shoes, but they still hurt sometimes).
Back home my boyfriend was there already, so I quickly cleaned myself and went to bed and we chatted. I felt reaaaaaally good. And even better this morning when I was able to get up at 6 to get my strenght training done!!! Which means I'm free for tonight :) but SP was down for the first part so I was slower and went with my memory, because I can never remember my trainings by heart XD I should take screenshots.
So I'm glad my first jog is done and I'll probably go back tomorrow morning for another one. I'll gradually go up to 5 kms, going up by .5 km when I'm able to do a run without walking. I hope it won'T be too long, but I don't feel EXTREMELY out of shape, which is good, and I feel like it's gonna come back quickly.
On a last less positive note, yesterday I told my boyfriend I'd lost 1.4 pounds in two weeks. The first thing he said is "maybe you were dehydrated". WTF? I was pretty mad, not that I'm fishing for compliments and hurrahs but because the first thing he thinks is that it's not even because of my efforts that I lost weight. I told him and he apologized, and agreed that it was stupid, but still. Why did he think it was water weight immediatly? Grrr.
