So, it’s been awhile since I blogged. I think last I left you I had plans to hit a Red’s game. And I did and it was a great time. My daughter had a blast and we enjoyed watching the game. I knew we had good seats, but they were even better than I had expected due to the curve of the wall. The only bad spot on the night was we lost a stuffed animal I bought for the little one. And it took almost a week to hear back from their customer service about lost and found. Ah well there will be other games and other animals. The memories of our time together are worth more than the animal.
I hit the big 70 today! And while some may think I mean 70 years when they look at me, I mean 70 pounds! I can’t believe I am this far already. I was talking with my youngest last night who weighs in the 70’s, basically I no longer carry her around all the time. I have lost an entire kid! Lol. A numbers nerd I am, so a little fact. That is 210 less pounds of force my legs absorb when I walk. My legs feel amazing now. I had a nasty fall from a ladder that left my heel in pieces about 10 years ago. I normally have pain on a regular basis, but lately it has been pain free even if I walk for a workout instead of ride the bike. It leaves hope for possibly taking up running at some future date. I have these fantasies about triathlons. Not sure why but the idea of competing in one appeals to me greatly.
So that brings me to working out. I think I have finally made it to the point where I am doing something aerobic every day. I obviously ride a ton. I had been on a 3 day on 1 day off cycle. I recently started riding 4 days and taking one off. Then I sort of decided to take short walks on the off days. This is to accomplish 2 things. One, staying active and burning calories. Second is to start building the body and conditioning it for more weight bearing exercises like running. I figure I need to walk before I run. So, as I continue to lose weight I will continue the walking till I get to a point where I can incorporate some running. Giving the body the 4 days in between to get used to the extra pounding.
Got all the work done on my car by a backyard mechanic friend and it is running great. Still have one exhaust leak he needs to fix, but he is hoping to do it soon, he just needs to figure out the part he needs. It should be a quick fix and while I have saved a ton over what I would have paid a shop, it has still left me a lot more uncomfortable than I had planned to be right now. So, I am really trying to watch my spending and eating out. Even though I am eating healthy (or maybe more correctly, not as badly as I used to,) I need to really cut that back to save some money.
So, I am slowly getting things back in order or making plans to get them back in order. I have noticed the exercise and healthy eating making improvements in my energy levels too. I am finding things to do around the house and getting things accomplished finally.
