I hate to say it, but I'm taking a day of rest. My training schedule has me cycling today, but I'm going to take a pass. Something is just not quite right with my left glute muscle. I'm feeling it now even when I'm not running. May have an issue with the left IT band, too. The IT band feels very sore when I'm using the foam roller, but it doesn't bother me when I'm running or at any other time.
The discomfort started back a couple weeks ago. I may have overdone the hill work. It isn't terrible. I could still exercise. But it isn't getting better fast, so I think a day or two of rest is in order. I don't like the word "injury." I'm thinking mild strain. Hoping a little rest will do it. Time will tell.
So on this day of rest, my focus will be on cleaning up the eating. Haven't done as well as I'd like the last 3 days, so this is the perfect time to weigh and measure proper portions, 100% track, and make very wise selections.
