Be True To Yourself

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

"We need to find the courage to say NO to the things and people that are not serving us if we want to rediscover ourselves and live our lives with authenticity." - Barbara De Angelis

In order to be true to ourselves, it takes saying no sometimes. Everyday we are presented with opportunities to get off our true path every single day.

You have a vision of where you want to be. You have goals.

You're not like a feather floating aimlessly in the wind.

You have a purpose in this life and you are in control of achieving your destiny.

Are you being really authentic with your life now, or are you allowing people or things to distract you from your true identity and purpose?

Today I want you to spend some time to think about your dream and desires for your life. To make it even more powerful, write it down. Let the truth come out. Don't limit yourself.

What do you feel destined to do? Don't worry about how you will achieve success right now.

Remember I want you to be true to yourself. In order to do that, you have to do what you feel like you have a passion to do.

Then you have to practice saying no. If you have a dream you want to achieve, say no when an opportunity approaches that you don't feel good about or you strongly believe you lead you further away from your true destiny.

The more you feel like you know what you are here to do, the easier it will be for you to respectfully decline the detours.

Live a more authentic life starting today by saying no.

Get busy living,

I have to agree with this. I need to find my passion and then say no to other things so I can make it happen. You can do it!

Argh... I am struggling with this... my kids and my life vs. my healthy life goals. Thanks for the post. I still feel like my life is not my own yet. That is my own fault. But things are also improving. No. No. No. Just practicing, lol.

NO -- such a simple word, but so hard to use sometimes! It has taken me 59 yrs. to see the value in using that word as is best to meet my needs!

If we don't take care of US, then how do you have the strength -- emotionally and physically -- to care for those that need us.

Wonderful blog!
