Figuring this running out!

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

I still haven't made it to Peak Performance, but I will get there. So far my Adidas are holding up. They were brand new, so they should be ok for a little while.

I didn't run this morning. I am kind of paranoid of loosing my arm definition, so I did strength training this morning. Weights, push ups, v push ups, and part of the Insanity ab workout, that I remember. I want to keep that definition.

I did notice that I'm getting the "runner's lower abs." They are flat, but the muscles around my hip bones are developing. I like it! My daughter stated that I'm looking, "skin.., um fit." I complimented on her change of terminology. I don't want thin, I want fit, toned muscles. I guess I'm on my way!!!

Thanks for supporting me on this new journey!

I agree that you should do strength training as well. Keep up the good progress!

Strength training and cross training are part of a runner's formula for successful and injury free running. I totally embrace this after incurring injury. The fear of not running so overwhelmed me that it only made me focus more on the big picture.
On another note, I went to Lincoln Running Company yesterday. They organized an incredible turn out of over 1000+ runners for Boston at the beginning of this week. We also discussed the strength & bond of runners! It's a great thing.
Stay safe and cool runnings!

Heehee--I still don't have the running thing mastered--I've been tinkering at it for 2 years now :)

What I found as I got more into running last year were some folks telling me I was too skinny! But many here on SP reassured me that it was people getting used to a new, trim "me". Listen to yourself -- you are doing all the right things!
