So yesterday I had my mom take me to Arby's after work and without thinking I had a Sierra Mist. It had been a very long time since I've had a soda. I've heard things about soda taking away the calcium in your body etc but really I've been eating too much calcium lately anyways so when I went grocery shopping I got the orange juice that is not calcium fortified like my last orange juice was. I think my main problem lately is sugar. Yesterday when I went grocery shopping I got sugary cereal, sugary yogurt, and of course sugary icecream. I don't like wasting food so I'm not going to just throw away all of this stuff but I know I need to slow down when it comes to it and then eventually stop buying it. lol Life just seems so boring without sugar. lol I have things like Jimmy Dean sandwhiches in the freezer etc but I know that white bread is bad as well because it can turn into sugar. It'd be nice if he made some sandwhiches with whole grain bread. I also need to be drinking more water, which is ironic since I know sugar can dehydrate. I remember when I was in boot camp, we usually weren't allowed to have sugar and when we did have sugar it came in the form of nutrigrain bars and peanut butter. We did have pie on Christmas day. Sometimes I miss the military because I had someone making me do full body workouts every other day. People tell me that my weight isn't that bad etc but I have to wonder sometimes as I'm nearing the age of 30 when I'm going to make a commitment to start taking care of my body more because I have a whole lot of years ahead of me that I need to do that in. I have diabetics in my family so I know what I should and shouldn't be eating. I did an experiment once where I avoided high sugar foods and then one night when I had some icecream I felt sick. There's been some sort of stupid debate going on about cane sugar, corn syrup, and high fructose corn syrup. I wonder why we have such stupid debates in America such as pepsi vs coke. I mean truth be told they are all bad for us so just call it a day; tell the truth, shame the devil. It's almost like our presidential elections. Both end up being liars who raise the deficit. People say to pick the least of the evils but evil is evil. I don't think all sugar is evil. We have sugar in vegetables and fruits etc but I think processed sugar is not a good thing.
