Bamboo root ball # 1 surrendered to the mattock and me tonight! Yaay! My arms are tired. And the second patch is all cut down. (We have a life-time supply of bamboo poles for the garden.) So tomorrow - maybe - I will start digging that part out. The soil is just full of earthworms, so rich and moist right now - but not slogging wet. I foresee tomatoes being planted this weekend... and peppers... hmmm what else!?

I definitely think gardening is a work-out. Anybody who says not, just hasn't done it.

I stupidly planted bamboo in my yard. You can guess what happened I'm sure. It's a lot of work, I don't think I ever got totally rid of it. SAME thing with Calla Lily's. I spent 9 years trying to get rid of them. I finally gave up. Just cut them down every year. I sure hope your tomatoes grow good!! Good luck getting rid of the bamboo!! I mean that very nicely too.

bamboo is a very fast growing grass, so i'm told. once planted, it lasts forever. but, it's green.
