Hi! My name is Leilani. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. emoticon . I started the Alternate Day Diet today. To make things a little easier for me, I started on an UP DAY. I'm a little nervous about tomorrow as I will be on a DOWN DAY and will only be able to consume no more than 600 calories. Which is not much at all! I plan to replace 2 meals with Slimfast Protein Shakes and a Baked sweet potato for dinner. It will put me right under 600 calories. I will also do my best to drink at least 8 glasses of water. Something that is very difficult for me.

My goal is to lose 31 lbs. That would put me at 145 lbs. I weighed myself yesterday and tipped the scale at 176. Errrrrrrrrrrr! It may not seem much, but keep in mind that I am ONLY 5'3. What's sad is that my boyfriend is 6'2 and weighs 7lbs less than me. Yikes!

I also plan to get back to the gym on my UP DAYS. I'm thinking maybe working out on DOWN DAYS may not be a good idea.

I don't know how long it's going to take to reach my goal, but I at least want to lose 20 lbs by summer. I'd be comfortable enough to wear a bathing suit to the beach! I feel like a total slob right now!!!!!!

Oh well .... it's getting late. I will check in tomorrow to share my first DOWN DAY!

    Thank you TXPATRIOT for the advice. I've tried MANY different approaches to losing weight including the "balanced approach" - obviously it didn't work. :-( I've had to battle with my weight issues since childhood. I've done some research on the Alternate Day Diet, I have some medical issues (nothing major) that can most likely be resolved with this WOE so I'm willing to give it a shot and see what happens.     Not here to discourage you, but I'm not sure about the up/down, alternate day diet . It seems that you are going to put your body in starvation mode and this could work against you.

You can do what you want, but if you are not getting the results you want, I would try a more balanced approach.
