Thank you for the sympathy! All better today under my blister tape. And I completed 4.8 miles on a dark and drizzly day.
My heel healed. This was not an equipment failure. My running shoes are professionally selected. I literally wore the tread off pairs 1 and 2 and now I'm seeing wear on pairs 3 and 4. No blisters when brand new! I buy two at a time to give the shoes a chance to breathe in between wearings. They were so comfortable that I bought exact replacements (except for color). I luv my Feetures socks --- I bought them in multiples and won't go out for a serious walk without them.
So what happened?
I think it was a combination of factors that I need to remember for future reference!
Bottom-line: I stopped. Winter was rough (one storm dumped 3 feet and there was more snow from more storms piling on top of that --- and ice). Stopping is easy.
And my comfy running shoes shifted a bit. And my feet got a little softer again. And I put on another few pounds --- again.
A day out here, or there, no real routine.
An hour on a track.
The prevention? Don't stop. Create a routine and stick with it.
