Hallelujah!

I'm a Planet Fitness member, and the one 3 miles from my house is finally open! Oh happy day!

In addition to that, my weight has finally dropped below 170. I started at 176 when I joined Sparkpeople again, and that was around the first of the year. It's taken me a long time to lose those 7 pounds. I hit a serious plateau and I guess an old-fashioned audit of my diet is what did the trick.
I've recently discovered those Evolve protein shakes and I have to say they are really pretty good tasting, and surprisingly not THAT terrible for you. Though I'm thinking about investing in some high-quality protein powder -- like Sunwarrior. I've been eating a lot of eggs and fish, too (eggs at home, and I work at a seafood place so that's easy). Whatever I'm doing, it appears to be working (knock on wood).

What are your plateau-busting tips? What foods are part of your everyday healthy lifestyle?

I am currently experiencing a plateau so I am looking for ideas too. Another blogger posted that she recently took a break from dieting and just restarted and lost another seven pounds. I have asked her what her secret is and how long she took a break for.

My daily diet foods include plenty of fruits and veggies - celery, carrots, apples, bananas, and grapes. I have two scrambled eggs and a container of Activia Light yogurt for breakfast every morning along with a cup of skim milk. For lunch I usually eat a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with lite mayo. Dinner is my family meal, so this is where I change it up. I eat a lot of chicken and lean beef, and occasional pork loin. Every now and then I splurge and have a Skinny Cow caramel truffle ice cream bar - it's 100 calories and really tastes good when my sweet tooth hits.

Good luck on your Spark journey! emoticon

I've been on a bit of a plateau as of the last four months but my fat% is still going down and my muscle weight is increasing by doing some healthy weight training.

Egg whites (and sometimes a yolk or two) are an every day staple for added protein to build muscle.
