7 weeks

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

So it's been about seven weeks since I started trying to 'reduce' as they used to say. I've lost 6 lbs. I really wish it was more. I know that I'm losing at a healthy rate, but it is hard to not want the weight to come off faster.

I know that I've been hiking aggressively and that I've probably built up a little muscle in my legs. I'm sure this is why the scale hasn't budged more. Also, I skimp on the water. I try to drink enough, but sometimes I really just don't want to. Also, I've been snacking on cheese. lol. Obviously this will impact my weight loss.

So I need to remedy these issues and keep positive!

Here is a positive list:

-I LOVE hiking. I found a great meetup group that hikes all over Orange County. I've been going twice a week. I've met lots of nice people, explored the area and burned 500-600 calories every hike.

- I like cooking at home. I usually do this everyday anyway. I don't have much money and it is more economical to cook at home. I look forward to trying out some new recipes.

- I'm going to be teaching my first college course this summer and I'm looking forward to planning my lectures. This will be fun and it will take my mind off of dieting.

- My fiance and I want to start trying to conceive in about one year. I'm doing all of this work so that I can be at a healthy weight to get pregnant.

- Let's hope I can keep positive and I'll check in with myself in another 2-3 weeks.
