Day 5 of eating well, Day three of swimming

I am so blessed to have the crazy husband that I have. Several years ago he found a used Endless pool online. We bought it, had it delivered up from KC, had a room built for it, and when it's working, we can swim all year. It took a while to find the time for him to do the repairs this last time, but it is up and running again.
Sunday I did about 13-15 minutes of kicks (holding onto the kick bar while the current is going) and a total of 200 backstrokes. I did three different kick styles: freestyle, backstroke, and pulling my legs apart and together while on my back ( I call this ab/adductor kicks). I got a little dizzy after all that, but my kids helped me out and made my dinner salad for me so I kept eating right.
Monday I did a 15 minute routine. I found my watch out there so I timed it to make sure. I did the same routine, but added butterfly kicks as well. Stevie (11) suggested this. He reminded me that butterfly kicks are a great ab workout. Ouch! He's right!
Today I did the same as Monday, but extended it to 20 minutes with 300 straight backstrokes in the routine. I also forgot to mention that I'm stretching for 10 minutes after each swim while my muscles are warm and I'm in the warm water. We keep our pool pretty warm.
I'm also very proud to report that I turned down ice cream last night. We went out after the middle school concert. My daughters had ice cream, and I had a cup of chili (which is on my low carb diet). I was very hungry at the time too, so it wasn't just eating because everyone else was eating.
So, I'm doing very well this week and staying on track!
