The Cheer Bully.

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

It was a very long weekend in Bakersfield, but it was a lot of fun.

Originally I had a room for $80 a night down in Bakersfield, but when I got a ride there as hubs couldn't make it, I switched to a $180 room at a different hotel. Needless to say our budget was GONE. But I didn't want to have my driver drive me 3 miles to another hotel both nights so it was a sacrifice. There were absolutely no available food service around the hotel so we ate room service. On Sunday we ate nothing until 8 pm after we got home. I was just out of money until next week.

But we had fun!

The kids, as usual, worked very hard. There were so many injuries at this Cali Finale. At one point Nikki's coach came running across the stage when it was our team's turn to perform and the owner came out to hold up our spot. One of the flyers had snapped her ankle. It was scary not knowing what was going on.

After they got her squared away the girls came out. And took 1st place :o)

After another 5 hour ride home and a busy Monday catching up on homework and Spark, I find this email in my box from the owner, John.

"I just received an email from Tammy showing me what you said asking about Medals and Ribbons... YOU PAID $0.00 for any registration fees for this competition... Your daughter got to enter for FREE....
The chain of command is to talk to your coach
Then talk to me

AT NO POINT do you ever address an event producer... This is embarrassing beyond belief right now....

If you plan on coming back,I expect you to email Tammy personally and apologize...

Now I already know what you are asking: "What did YOU say??" and you know what? I'm not going to tell you that, yet. Because here's where I'M coming from. 1) Why is he automatically assuming it's me? It's my FB page, yes, but as everyone in the Social Media World knows if you leave your page on your phone, your computer, or anywhere...it's accessible to anyone! 2) Why wouldn't HE follow the chain of command and ASK me what happened and 3) why is he BULLYING (yes, I'm using that word) my daughter as punishment? Didn't we outlaw people punishing the innocent for their own benefit with Hitler?

Absolutely stumped at the moment. There was nothing I said or allegedly said that should have warranted that email. When I explained to Nikki what happened she looked at me sand said "you tell him fine, I won't come back and we will take our money to California Fame" I kissed her on the forehead. No one bullies anyone I love. Especially when I pay THEM.

Now...knowing what you know. I'll tell you what was posted: "No medals? Only ribbons? I'm in the wrong busine$$!"

Your thoughts? Perhaps this person should have added an LOL to that mischievousness comment emoticon

Wow. I would be in a state of shock right now, about the email. I can't see where he was bullying your daughter, did he just send that email to you or did he send it to her too. But jeez, its so over the top! That kind of thing really stresses me out, and most of the time it lasts for days. What a nutcase, and how UNPROFESSIONAL.

Congrats with the achievement. Honestly, I can't help with the rest as I am living in New Zealand and I don't know anything about cheer leading and the politics surrounding it. Sorry.

He is the owner of what? All cheering activities anywhere?

Very strange email. Is there an emoticon of a little face flipping a bird? Screw him.

Congrats to your daughter though. :)

I think my way of thinking lines up with Nikibobiki. What I have trouble grasping, is even he thought you were being ungrateful, his reaction was so over the top. I think I'd pull my money out so fast and being the person I am, I would make sure everyone I got a chance to share the professionalism of the owner with, would know. I'm not saying I would actively campaign to pull down his business, but if people asked why you were leaving, I'd be honest.

    Congrats on your team winning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's always nice to have hard work pay off.
As for the coach - to me it sounds that he heard it from more than one person and you were the lucky one to get the brunt of it. Unprofessional indeed. Common? unfortunately yes.
I don't know what to tell you to do, as I have issues standing up for myself and when I do I basically sound like the coach emoticon ( I blame it on lack of skills in this area)
I know that you will be able to sort it out, and I think you have a really smart daughter. I bet she takes after her mommy emoticon emoticon

This is all confusing to me. I have so few brain cells that are awake today.
However, I know you and you're totally awesome...so this either was interpreted the wrong way or this guy didn't have his Wheaties that morning (or maybe he just needs laid...hahaha).

    Love you girl!!

I hate to say this, and I hope I'm interpreting this right, but I can actually see where he is coming from with respect to it being a free competition. I read your comment as meaning "Well, What a waste of time this was, they only gave out ribbons." and I would have been insulted as an organizer. Kinda like being called cheap.
I assume you were making a joke? In which case, I think you are right, and maybe an LOL would have helped? I find with texting / emailing and online stuff sarcasm or humor is often lost to the reader. You know?
What I can't understand is why he would be so RUDE to you about it ! I think the tone and the wording of his email was WAY over the top and you certainly did not deserve to be spoken to like that. Why would he get so irate over something like that? A simple " Hey, I'm sorry you were disappointed with the presentation of ribbons but since this was a free to enter competition, budgets were tight. From now on, if you have any issue with awards, please bring it to the coach first."

Again, I hope I am interpreting the situation right. emoticon I understand this Tammy person being taken aback if she didn't see the humor in your comment, but I think this John person needs an attitude check BIG time. Very aggressive / trying intimidation. I wouldn't want to deal with him. emoticon

Wow - that was wrong of the "coach" on so many levels! I can't believe the way some people act.

I agree with your daughter - go elsewhere if possible. You do not NEED or deserve such crap!

Sweetheart you were not in the wrong I feel. You where just looking out for Trin and that is all that matters. I think that they must have reached out to the coach or who ever that guy is and because he was embarrassed he then took it out on you. Like you said before you only said what everyone else was thinking/feeling.
