As I suspected...

The anniversary weight is on its way down again. YES!

I had a small epiphany this morning about food. We'd had Sloppy Joes for dinner the other night and managed to eat all but two buns from the package. I knew they wouldn't get eaten, so I went to throw them away this morning. I swear, it was like someone took hold of my hand and didn't want me to dump them in the trash. I had the fleeting argument, "Well, we'll never eat them! Why keep them? You don't KNOW that you won't eat them!" It was ridiculous. I think I realized this morning that the whole "clean up your plate, there's starving kids in China" syndrome can hit you at unexpected times. I had to stand there and lecture myself on the fact that it was not a sin to dispose of food that we had no intention of eating despite the plight of those who are hungry. Tough lesson to reason through.

Came to a compromise, however. Since I couldn't send it to someONE who needed it, I tore it up in little pieces and chucked it out under the bird feeder. It didn't take long for the crows to scarf it up. Apparently that was a big "Aha!" moment for me.

So often I hang onto things like this and then end up throwing it out AFTER it's gone moldy - like that's so much better, LOL.
Thanks for sharing this - I'm going to have to take a good look at that mindset for myself.

I like this little saying I picked up from a book some time ago, in it the author said, "Throw it away, don't WASTE it!" For years, I had that tape on my fridge. I too have that syndrome rear it's ugly head from time to time. Thank God his grace leads us through those dark moments and victory and freedom is always waiting on the other side :D Thanks for sharing!

I know how you felt. I do the same thing and end up giving it to the dog. I think about its many people starving that could use yhus food. Don't feel bad join the club.
