On pins and needles

Perhaps not.
But that is what you think of when you hit a nerve. The old funny bone, and that odd tingly pins and needles sensation that runs up and down your arm even to your hand.

Nerves are funny things, in a not so funny way.
Though they can tingle. burn even. vibrate. feel funny. pins and needles from tickle light sensations to downright aggravating. Make you wriggle, writhe, squirm in discomfort. That's me alright. Nothing like tickles and fun.

So I let it all lie low yesterday, in hopes today would be better. I felt the low back yelling at me as soon as I woke up. At least it let me sleep. Then, I went on my side, and I felt a nerve get pinched near my ribs, in a place I don't ever hurt. I ever so carefully got myself out of the compromising position. Washed my hair (carefully). Got dressed. Went to put on my sweat shirt, and oh clam cadiddlehoppers there went that stupid nincompoop nerve in the left shoulder blade having to do with my neck. Move ever so slowly. Yell even.

eat light breakfast. Read scripture for reinforcement - found one I can sing... Ye let none that wait, on thee be afraid...

Go to computer. quickly log in. check mail. post a quick little blog about it, and silently slip away to go rest it up. Again.

I did two minutes of gentle exercise this morning without compromising my low back. Go me.
Heck. one minute at a time works.
Count me in.

    emoticon The other night I did 3 min on my treadmill. It was all I could do. So even 1 min is doing at least something. Yes, it does count!!

    Sorry about all the pain :( Right there with you. I rolled over in bed trying to do side crunches and put weight on my bad elbow, hoo boy, big mistake :P Good thing I am not a yelling kind of person, might have woken the dead!! Yes, I am dialing back what I am doing, but that doesn't mean I will stop pushing either. Here is to feeling better and doing what ever our bodies will allow on any given day!

    Oh no, this does not sound good. Sending prayers your way that this is not of long duration. Take it easy and like you said, one minute at a time till you are better.

    Hang in there, my friend. I'll keep hoping things improve substantially and rapidly for you. Every little bit of movement counts toward the total, so you get extra points for doing what you could and not letting the idea go away. emoticon emoticon

    Great job fitting in that exercise. It doesn't matter how little it is! The fact that you did something even with all of these roadblocks there to stop you is awesome! Keep up the fabulous work!
