Goal, Planning and Implementation

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Making a plan takes away stress. My menu is planned so I know what to buy at the market(saving money) and I have something to look forward to for dinner. Sure plans change... they almost always do. but having a menu to draw from I can switch up nights.

My exercise plan has fallen a bit on hard times this year. I need to work on this and set up more back up plans. And PRACTICE!!!! Good intentions get me nowhere. But practice... ah that is a different story. With practice comes improvement.

I have even let my mediation practice slip a bit.

I could use all sorts of excuses and place blame in all the wrong places but that will not get me to my goal.
Today I will reaffirm my goal with actions steps.

Habits are such wiley things -- you're sticking with overcoming the unhelpful ones, though. Great job.

Why are these good for us habits so hard to "stick"? I guess I can't undo a lifetime of habit without a lifetime of trying.

A solid plan plus follow through is a good recipe for success. Someone smarter than me said those who fail to plan plan to fail.

With a little focus and action, you will be back on track in no time. Keep up the Spark!

I think it's human nature! As soon as we feel we've "got it in the bag" we start to relax, which turns into slipping...it's hard to be forever vigilant. So it's always just a matter of "monitoring and adjusting, monitoring and adjusting" ad infinitum!!!!

I like how you talk to yourself. I am trying to coach myself with this same sober, rational tone.

Your planning is building a healthy lifestyle. You have already built in so many effective routines. We all slip out of synch here and there. When you gear up a bit with the meditation, you'll be right back in the groove. Oh yeah, I remember how to do this! Same with exercise. Put it on the calendar, just like another appointment....

Definitely! Sticking to it AND having alternate plans are very important in this process of attaining a healthier lifestyle.
