I am trying visualization with my mind's eye....

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Today I am having a small degree of difficulty with my "gooder" eye and am a somewhat worried about the eye's condition. Will be checking the Amsler grid daily in case of similar symptoms as I had in the right eye. I am still able to read with the left eye but the right one which had the Avastin injection at this point is useless for details.

This is a very scary proposition, that I may get wet macular degeneration in both eyes. I want to be able to drive safely and continue to see so I can continue to work.

At this point, my wish or visualization dream is to have normal vision in both eyes with normal retina and macula which give me the ability to read, drive and do other things.

My daughter reminded me that when I pray or visualize I need to be specific...in other words I need to be careful what I pray for or visualize so that I get the desired result. As she said it is like making wishes with a genie who grants wishes but often is quite literal so I will be careful what I am asking for.

I will write the prayer down: I am asking for normal vision in both eyes with each eye having a normal retina and macula which give me the ability to read, drive and perform other activities of daily living, including being able to read piano music so I can continue to play the piano. Thank you, Lord. AMEN emoticon

It must be very frightful to think you are losing your sight or any portion of it, Perhaps it will not happen the way you are afraid it will. Your prayers are a mighty weapon in fighting this and so is the love and mercy of the Lord. I am sure you have checked into any or all treatments available with your eye doctors, if you haven't you should. I wish you all the best for your vision. emoticon

That's cute what your daughter told you about praying. LOL But God is not like a genie. Genies are just human's in a can and they make mistakes, God knows the heart and the mind and so even if we miss dotting the i or crossing the t, God's knows what we mean. ;-)

I understand your fears with your eyes, I've been going through concerns this last couple years myself. My sister is almost 2 years older than me and it seemed like anytime something happened to her eyes, the same thing happened to me a couple years later. She had two detached vitreous solutions about 6 months apart, then I had them in the same way about 2 years later. So you can imagine how I was feeling when a couple year later she had a full on detached retina. I just knew it was coming my way. LOL So far so good though, knock on wood. ;-)

As all this was going on they found indications of possible glaucoma in one of my eyes. So they've been checking on me every 3-6 months with tests. My last one they said I'm looking OK for now and that I can go back to 1 year exams. So I went ahead and got me some new glasses the other day since I've been holding off due to all the issues. I can see again. LOL So just keep up the exams and prayers and let's pray things work out for you.
