Today was a scheduled run day for my modified 10k week 3 training but it rained the entire day. I finally laid down to sleep after getting the boys from school since I work tonight. My alarm was set for 8:30 but I got up at about 7:15 instead and (woohoo) it WASN'T raining out. I went for a 30 minute run with a 5 minute walk to warm up and an 8 minute walk to cool down.
I used my running time to reflect on how I felt during my 10k on Saturday since I haven't really sat down and really "analyzed" the good and bad points. I was feeling a bit tight still and I still felt it for about the first 5-10 minutes tonight but I'm feeling really good now that I'm done. I started off on Saturday with running 4 minutes then walking 1 minute and did that the entire way until about 4.5 miles in. I got to a steeper area and went a couple of intervals of 3 minutes running and about 30 seconds of walking and it was enough to where I was able to finish up by running the last 6 minutes without stopping.
I know that I could have gone further and made it a full 10k (it measured 5.66 miles with my GPS) but I will know for sure in a couple of weeks because I run 5 miles on this Friday, 2.5 miles next Friday and 6.5 miles the following Friday. We will see, won't we people?
