Gosh, every time I start doing fabulously with my spark program, and life throws me just a little curve ball, I LOSE IT, by which I mean I self-sabotage.
Unfortunately, my brain is still hardwired to interpret food as a source of comfort. My eating has gone haywire because when I need something comforting in a stressful time food is the place I turn.
So this weekend I spent a lot of time examining my habits and assessing my current work life situation.
Do I not feel that I have the support I need to deal with problems without food?
Yes, that's definitely part of it.
Moving forward, I am going to focus more of my energy on building a live support network. I have a friend who "virtually" is exercising and being healthier with me. I'm going to reach out to receptive family members and talk to more people about my health goals, and I'm going to call them when I feel stress is about to make me spiral out of control.
The challenges I have with maintaining a healthy lifestyle are more than just making the right food and exercise choices, because I KNOW what the right choices are. If I'm not making those choices, it's time to take a harder look at "why," and fix those underlying causes.
