Beaus Lines on Nails

Monday, April 22, 2013

I noticed weird lines on my right thumb for some time. Also both my big toe nails have been splitting for the same amount of time. Over a year for sure. Now my right thumb has subtle signs too. When I Google it the scary reasons for Beaus lines popped up-hear disease,diabetes-yikes! Then I saw the other causes alcoholism,-nope my five drinks a year barely count! Digestive issues like celiac! Whew! That makes perfect sense. Further searching the problem is low zinc. Well add it to low iron and b12. Now a doctor hasn't told me anything about it but I betting on common sense since I have celiac. I will bring it up at my next appointment. My hair has been weirdly dry and funky feeling. I thought it was so damaged. I haven't used permanent color in a year and only used the wash out kind but not since Christmas time. I almost never blow dry my hair and never use a flat iron. I used natural paraben and gluten free hair care but it still feels awful. I've also had peeling, cracked lips for as long, it would improve when I got the b12 shot. Now I know that is due to low zinc too. So I'm on a mission to get zinc into my body. Oysters are number one in zinc, but I don't like them! So last night we had crab legs, tonight beef roast, snack on cashews, fix a big batch of beans to eat through the week. I hope it helps cuz I feel dejected about the condition of my hair skin and nails! Doesn't make one feel very pretty!

Have you also tried biotin too, that helps the hair and nails too.
