This weekend was a true test.. Hubby invited me out to eat on Friday for our 6month wedding anniversary. This meant canceling our gym date... Yikes!
When I have focus I don't like to stray from my routine, but I went anyway and we did Mexican which is one of my faves. I had a hard time resisting ordering a drink since they are loaded with sugar but found a "skinny margarita" which claims to have only 120 calories. I decided to go for it, but upon the drink being served I realized there was no way because the glass was HUGE.. Along with my dinner of tilapia which would have served my dinner and lunch for two days because it was SOOOO big. I actually did eat the leftovers for lunch and dinner the next night. I left the restaurant feeling overly full and bleeeegghhh.
Saturday proved to be a day I regained control by hitting the gym for my missed Friday workout of legs...without hubby. Got in a super workout with 492 calories burned and went in to food shop and stock up on clean eats for this week. I controlled my eating that day and felt great.
Sunday hubby says, "lets's go to Sea World", again panic set in because it was a last minute plan and I was diverting from my schedule of food prep and laundry/house stuff, but I went and grabbed some healthy snacks for the car ride. Lunch was unfortunately McD's but I made a "healthy" choice of a grilled snack chicken snack wrap at 250 calories, with a diet coke that I shared with hubby... Boo hiss diet coke is BAD
I caved at the park by getting popcorn which I LOOVE but really tried to pick up my pace walking through the park to get some cardio in. That evening I got my food prep in.. Turkey chili, mini turkey meat loaves, clean egg muffins, and marinating my chicken breasts for tonites dinner. SUCCESS
This weekend was fun and taught me that I can adapt and live life. That is after all why I am on this fitness journey, to be able to have fun and feel good about myself when I go out. I don't want to be concerned with how I look or constantly feel crappy all the time.
Here's to a fantastic week.
