Move It Monday -- Hopefully!

Monday, April 22, 2013

Tried to get back to exercising last week when I started feeling better from the virus and I must have overdid. My knee has been bugging me ever since. I am determined to try it again today. Climbing in and out of DIL vehicle Sat has left my hip and neck sore. Being short definitely has some disadvantages! Should have had an extra running board, I guess.

Now that I am done moaning . . .

Who would have thought or ever known
That the height I am would be called "grown"?
Never got taller that my own dear mother,
And in this family, so far there's no other
As short as I am.

There are four grand daughters, growing you see
And already two are taller than me
When they come to visit they are such a help
They reach things for me from the top of the shelf
Not as short as I am.

No other way would I have it though
I am just happy to see them grow
A few more inches would have been nice
But that part of life was not my slice
Glad they are not as short as I am.

Years ago when my son was a teen
He worried he would be as short as me
Then he shot up like a growing weed
A whole foot taller looking down at me
Happy he's not as short as I am!

I am what I am and this is me, I am just what I was meant to be!
It's just the right height a "little granny" should be
Happy to be here, that's what I am!

Love the poem and understand the problems of a short person. I keep a footstool in my kitchen and constantly have to use it to reach high shelves. Taller would definitely look slimmer and I constantly wish I were taller, but, as you said, I am Ok with being what I was meant to be. emoticon
