Back to the real world

Monday, April 22, 2013

For the past week, I've been living in a delusional world where I can eat and drink whatever I want to because it's "vacation", not that I went away or anything unless you count going to my parents and helping my sister with wedding plans. Because of my poor choices this past week, my weight has crept back up over 170, but I'm going to start changing things today. I think what I need to do is come up with some meal plans and manageable goals and start really tracking again. I will go shopping this afternoon and restock my fridge with healthy choices. I will make good choices. I will find somewhere to post a motivational calendar and I will start tracking some small goals. I'm still brainstorming what they will be but eating at least 5 fruits/veggies daily and doing some crunches and push-ups daily are definitely going to be on the list. I don't know how else to keep myself on track...

Addendum: I have now made a meal plan and shopping list for the week.

B- Toast with butter and cinnamon sugar, almonds, and tea
L- Chicken with broccoli and an orange
D-Tilapia with broccoli and couscous
S- Orange
(only 4 fruits/veggies.... needs improvement)

D-Spinach alfredo pasta and an orange
S- yogurt with blueberries and granola

The daily exercise goal helps a lot (I'm doing pushups and squats every day for April). I usually do them at work, so it's great to get up from my desk and knock a set out. With your plan in place, you'll be back down a few pounds in no time.
I love your meal plan. And major kudos to you for having something different every day! I usually end up with the same breakfast on the weekdays and same lunch a few days in a row.

I am sure you can recover the lost ground. Vacation damage does not have to be permanent and it sounds like you are not going to let it.

I am confident you'll get right back on track. The trick for me is creating habits. Although I can relate to the struggles of staying on track while being away from home.

What we sow, we shall reap, even when we let our guard down. God Bless YOU! Vic.
