Meteor Shower Tonight

Monday, April 22, 2013

I love meteor showers.

Tonight is the peak of the Lyrid meteor shower, one I don't even have on my annual calendar, but some say it will be worth it to get up at 4 am to see the meteors after the moon sets tonight...

The ones I really look forward are the Perseids in mid-August right about my anniversary time- we always joke that God is sending natural fireworks to celebrate it.

Most of the time meteor showers are underwhelming, with sparse and infrequent shooting stars, but every once in a while you really get a treat, with sensational displays of travelling lights... There's just nothing like it!

Maybe tonight!

As we are traveling, we are close to lighted area and not able to see the "showers". I thought we might be able to but at least not here in Belton. Might take a gander tomorrow night when we will have more darkness.
