~... pics of happenings in my life over the past 2 weeks

Sunday, April 21, 2013

My neighbors puppies that I took care of a couple of weeks ago while she was out of town... meet: CHASE & SHABAZZ ...
CHASE: ... I enjoyed the puppies but they were too frisky... I was so glad when they went home. It was challenging because JAZZI is not used to other "animals" in her space, so I had to keep them separated, with gates throughout the house.

... I will be taking these guys outside to the backyard. I think they will look nice on either side of one of the bird baths

... I think I deserve cut flowers!... I bought these from Trader Joe's for $3.99... they have a pretty good selection

... last Sunday, while JR and I were cleaning the yard, I spotted this Great Horned Owl in a tree in the vacant lot next door to my house. I honestly didn't know what it was because it had, what looked like ears... but it also had feathers... JR said that it was probably an owl and so it was!... I think he was a young owl because from the pics I have seen the adults are pretty large. This is the first time that I have ever seen an owl in my area. Pretty emoticon

... first glimpse of spring in my yard. I really have to start all over again, but these are the flowers that have bloomed so far... ... I have to put mulch down next week... so much to do. emoticon

I love seeing your pictures!! Made me smile :) So cool of the Owl. .wow! It's not often that anyone sees them I think...they seem so mysterious. We have them here but where are they? We see Eagles and Hawks which I love. And. .ohmygoodness those doggies look energetic and happy! Shabazz's smile is great! emoticon

That is fantabulous seeing that owl!! My Mom has seen one twice on her hikes in our river trails, but naturally, when I come over and join her, its never there :P
I don't know why they breed those cute looking fur balls that have the temperament of a badger! I always find them yappy, nippy and aggressive. Will take a big calm dog any day :P
Lovely flowers!! Our crocuses have made an appearance finally but everything else is dead as a door nail. Things are really really late -not even one tree has buds yet. We had the longest, coldest, darkest winter on record!
    Have a great week!

The fur babies do look a little wild. LOL.

Totally love the new lawn art!! I have been refurbishing my old stuff.

Love the garden flowers! I have to plant some new perennials and mulch too.

I make bouquets from flowers in the garden but sometimes wish I had a more formal arrangement.

I love owls and get to see one here every once in a while. We hear them almost every day.

LOL brave girl to babysit 2 puppies or dogs lol and the other pics are neat too.
I hope I can get to the ground to clean up the front gardens they aren't a lot but need tidying. Have really neglected this house's yards cos ssince we moved in I haven't been able to move around well. Hoping a bit here and there with massage and physio I may be able to manage some.
    HUGS enjoy spring!

    Beautiful pictures!
Let your neighbor with the little dogs know about the owl. They will easily kill small dogs if they are let out at night without a leash and this is the time of year when they raise their babies and need extra food. We just lost a very large duck to an owl a couple of nights ago.
