I went out kayaking with my brother this afternoon. We were just paddling along, and he starts veering off into a thicket and offers to show me the Secret Swamp. It was this shallow, twisty route through the brush and undergrowth. It was loads of fun navigating all the obstacles. Made me glad I have a shorter boat! We saw muskrats, geese, ducks, turtles. etc. It was a nice enough day for a paddle, though still a little chilly. The water, of course was frigid still. My feet have finally warmed back up though. We only did one lap around the lake today, as we both got our hands wet navigating the swamp, and paddling with cold, wet hands is not a ton of fun. We won't be going out kayaking for a couple of weeks now as my brother is having hernia surgery this week. I remember recuperating from that surgery, so I am thinking more like three weeks (or more) before we go out again.
I also walked 10.5 miles with the dog today, hooped for 18 minutes and did a little ST. It was a good start to my week. I am off to the gym tomorrow. It isn't as much fun as kayaking, but it gets the blood flowing. I am so close to my weight goal now. Only 2.8 pounds to go. Makes me want to work hard, so those last few pounds go away. I am so close!
