Recently I went for my annual woman's checkup. My gynecologist gave me the all clear and said, "See you next year." I mentioned that I hoped by the next time I saw him I would have reduced my weight back to a normal level again.
He said, "You won't be able to lose weight. I told my wife, "Once you reach this age, and the pounds go on, they're not coming off again."
Resisting the urge to slap him for discouraging his poor wife that way, much less me, I just smiled and waved goodbye.
Oh, boy, I just can't wait until I see him next year! Might just have to remind him there's no such thing as impossible -- the very word itself says, "I'm possible!"
