Day 1: Is the Spark spreading?

It's too early to tell, and I've been down this path before, but today when I said I was going to take the dog for a walk, my husband announced he was coming with me. He has done this occasionally in the past, but I hope (since he's starting early in the spring this time) it will develop into a habit. I'd love for us to get fit together!

When I first met my husband, in the early '80s, he was an amateur bodybuilder. He worked out every day at the gym and was in fantastic condition. Over the years, we both "let ourselves go." he's not terribly overweight, but he smokes and is very out of condition. Walking is an excellent way to ease him back into a healthy lifestyle.

I'm not going to "push it." I've been married long enough to know that will backfire. But I will now invite my husband to come with me on walks in the evening. Maybe it will become a habit.
