I would like your opinion on a running question.
As you might have read in my blog yesterday, my sister started running a few months ago and did her first race yesterday. She was all happy about herself and asked me if I had another race planed.
Exactly what I wanted to happen!!!
I told her that I was doing a 9km on Mai 9 and I mentioned casually that there was a 5km at the same place the same day. She was very happy and told me she would do it and we would have a drink after I would finish my race.
Today, we were chatting on the phone and she was trying to chicken out of the race... I found out that she does not want to run alone! I would be doing the 9 and she the 5... she did not like that.
I am torn now. I want to do my 9 since it is part of my training plan for the half marathon but I also want to encourage my sister and run with her... so here was my idea:
The 5km starts at 3:30pm. If I run it with my sister we would be back at the start line around 4:05pm. The 9km starts at 4:15pm... Can I run the two races with a 10 minute break in between?
I am crazy to even think about that? I think I could...
I ran 14km once, 2 weeks ago, and I am scheduled to run a 15km training session in May. On paper, I should be able to run both races and replace my 15km training run with them.
Has anyone run two races before? What do you think - could I do it or am I crazy...
Thanks for the advice!
