Strike Three...

Sunday, April 21, 2013

I found another walking trail and it is really nice and pleasant. Several people walking and a few had their dogs on a leash.
The walking trail is a 1 mile trail, so its easy to keep track.
I actually walked there twice.

This is my third time. I seen no one else walking. But as I was walking I seen all these geese on the lawn and I quickly turned around and left.
From DOGS to GEESE...... That put another dint in my outdoor walking.
Now....what am I to do?

Here I go again emoticon

Okay, so I'm with you here, but I'm reading that wild geese aren't aggressive, just dirty. My only experience was with my DH's grandmother's geese and they were MEAN.
Try and see, maybe you'll win, but you'll only find out if you try.

at my job we always have to dodge the turkeys we have about 20 or so running around and they will try to hit your car they think it is a big bird like them . But the geese are always walking around and i walk right with them the y never bother me or my car we have 30 or so gesse near a pond.,at work sometimes they try to enter the building with us, we are also lucky enough to have a herd or deer. some falcons a popsum and some ground chucks . I am lucky . embrace those geese enjoy your walk . hugs

Don't let the geese stop you! Take it from someone who once lived by a lake with a ton of geese and ducks --just pretend they're not there and don't go after them--and they won't go after you. Also? Watch out for goose poop because it's slippery (among other things). Good luck!!

Yeah, wild geese usually aren't aggressive. I'd give it a try. (Just watch where you put your feet!)

emoticon It is always a relief to me when the Humans have the Dogs on a Leash!! My experience with Geese is that as long as you don't have food, they are NOT interested in you. Hopefully the Geese in your area are the same way?
Don't give up! I have Faith that you WILL find a place where you can walk safely and Enjoy your Exercise!!

Sounds like a nice trail. It would be a shame to have to walk indoors because of a fear of animals. Some walkers in my neighborhood carry an umbrella to ward off loose animals; evidently just popping it open sends them on their way. I hope you find a solution that works for you. emoticon

It sounds as though you might just have to stick to walking indoors if you are afraid of animals. Keep trying!

I used to run a loop with lots and lots of geeze... they never bit or assaulted me - you shouldn't be afraid of them. Go do the trail if you like it!
