Yesterday I ran the Tarheel 10 Miler. After much training and support, the day finally arrived for me to run my race. I was so afraid that I would not be able to finish or keep up with the others because I am the heaviest runner in my group. However, with a lot of support from my friends and the best trainer in the world, I was able to accomplish this task. While I am still over 200 pounds, I ran a ten mile race in less than 3 hours. I received so much encouragement and support from people along the way. There were times that I felt alone because others had ran ahead of me but I new I was not alone. Jesus was with me because he never leaves my side. I also had faith to carry me along the way. There were hard hills to climb but I got it done by faith. For every hill that presented itself in my path, I declared the word of God, "I walk by faith and not by sight". For every person who believes that they cannot accomplish something because of their weight... that is a lie. Take it one step at a time...one day at a time. We are overcomers!!!
