I haven't been posting much recently, mostly because I haven't been doing very well in the health-department. I can't even seem to go ONE DAY without eating some sort of junk food. Last week, I only went to CF twice (due to stomach flu & schedule issues mostly). I'm really trying to turn it around this week. My weight is still up and I don't feel my best. I really want to feel great when I go to Chicago in June. The weather will be warmer and I want to feel more confident in my clothes, especially since I'll be surrounded by a bunch of superfit Crossfitters!
I know that if I can just get it right for 2 or 3 days and a row, I can make that streak last much longer. I'm going to hot yoga tonight with some CF friends. I've never done it before, and I'm kind of nervous, but it's helping motivate me so far. I've been drinking a lot of water and I'm determined to eat clean all day because I'm sure staying in a super hot room for an hour doing yoga is the last thing I'll want to do after eating a bunch of chips/fries/cookies/etc. For brunch I had 2 small coconut flour pancakes and 3/4 of a green smoothie (gave the rest to my husband).
Even though my eating has been far from perfect, I haven't gained too much weight. I'm at around 166 right now, which is up about 3 pounds from where I was (and up 10-15 pounds from where I'd like to be someday). It's also kind of hard to gauge, since I know I've put on muscle too. For instance, I only weighed 3 lbs more than I do right now when I got married, but I tried my wedding dress on the other day, and it was very loose.
I've been eating mostly clean during the week (with maybe one small serving of junk food or a beer a day), and then kind of going crazy on the weekends. At least I've determined that I can do that and mostly maintain my weight. I just can't lose any.
I drank the last two hard ciders in the fridge yesterday and I'm really going to try to not drink at all until the Chicago trip. I don't have any special events between now and then apart from my dad's birthday next weekend, so it shouldn't be too difficult to avoid booze (booze usually leads to fries or pizza). I went grocery shopping yesterday and have lots of fresh veggies to eat. I'm going to get out of my cooking rut and try some new recipes. I'm especially excited to make curry mango chicken, which we made at my internship this week and it was amazing! I'll try to check in here more often too.
