21 day Holy Spirit Study #1

Prayer Before Starting This Study:

Prayer For Holy Spirit Power And Understanding:

Almighty God, if You have called us to this ministry, You will equip us with Holy Spirit power. You will grant us the gifts that we need to excel. Act 1:8 "But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

Lord, we see others run but without being called. Make our calling sure.
Lord, we see others serving but without humility. Make us humble.
Lord we see others doing works but without power. Grant that the Holy Spirit enable us to do the works of Christ Jesus.
Lord, we see those in the ministry who have no personal time with You. Grant that we set aside the most important share of the day to converse with You and study Your Word.
Lord, we see others that do not have a prayer life. Grant us faith and expectation each time we ask mighty things in Jesus' name and praise and worship You.
Lord, we see others in business as the money changers were, yet they never open a generous hand to others. Make us more than generous in all we do. Remind us that we freely received and we should freely give.

Almighty God, our desire is to serve You and be Your witnesses to the uttermost parts of the earth. Enable us for this ministry. May Thy Holy Spirit fall upon us and may we recognize how to stir up the gifts within us. Amen

Bring your Bible. We will study verses only listed for the day.

Day 1: Read Genesis 1:1-31 and 1 John 5:7

Reflection: The Divine Spirit has been revealed to mankind since the beginning. Thus was proof of the Holy Trinity, of the Three Persons in the Godhead. Man was made to glorify the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Discovery and response: Write a prayer of rejoicing that God has revealed Himself to you in the Trinity. You may instead add words to a hymn. Or a discovery in the Bible or lesson you had never noted before.

Holy Spirit, before You sought me out and wooed me into the Kingdom, my life was also waste and void. I thank You for rescuing me from darkness and transforming me into Christ's radiant Light. Thank You for creating me for adoption into the great Family of God. Thank You for creating me in Your image, a little lower than the angels who behold You. Thank You for Your Testimony of the Trinity. In childhood, I never discovered or heard of the Godhead. I praise You for revealing Yourself to me. I will proclaim Your name throughout my pilgrimage on earth so that You be glorified. I await that glorious day in heaven when I will know the reality of worship divine. Amen

Thank you Father for moving upon my life and giving me your hope that there is more than I now see. Like the unformed child in her mother's womb, my eyes are not yet open to all you have planned for me. I see through a glass very dimly. But I know the Spirit of life moves within me, making me stronger day by day. Some day I will burst forth into your glorious presence.

Created in His Likeness . What a thought and God created mankind to worship and glorify Him. But mankind so often don't think about God til too late. The Bible says to be still and Know that He is God. When we let Him fill us he will put His words in our mouths

God's word says that when the earth was without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep the Holy Spirit hovered over the face of the waters. He was waiting for God's command to create light out of darkness and bring order out of the chaos. He's still doing that in our lives. Since we are made in the likeness and image of God and as believers, being filled with His Spirit, He waits for us to speak light so He can bring that into our situation. When things are out of order He waits for us to call those things back into proper order. He moves as the word of God comes out of our lips. God's Spirit empowers us to call forth those things that be not as though they are! He is our Helper!

As you have said, man was made to gloify God. How we grieve the Holy Spirit when we seek to glorify ourselves as I see so many of us do instaed of glorifying God. We have no power in our lives and see our faith as a set of rules to live by instead of being obedient from the heart out of love for the One who died for us and set us free. Oh how we may love Christ with a whole heart and glorify Him in everything we do! Everything! Not just on Sunday and maybe Wednesday night, but in our minds and through our actions moment by moment!

I remember when I first learned of the Holy Spirit... I attended church for years as a child and teen-ager, but never had repented and had no bible knowledge. I went to a church that never had an altar call. But God knew me, and my inner longings to know more......... He caused my earthly Father and Mother to pray for me and Bill every morning to be saved........ I was Born Again and was introduced to the Holy Spirit and thirsted to know more and more.......... This song reminds me of me........ years ago.

THERE IS RIVER

There is a river, and it flows from deep within
There is a fountain, that frees the soul from sin
Come to this water; there is a vast supply
There is a river, that never shall run dry.

There was a thirsty woman,
She was drawing from a well
You see her life was ruined and wasted
And her soul was bound for hell
Oh but then she met the Master

And He told about her sin
And he said "if you drink this water,
You'll never thirst again.'

There is a river, and it flows from deep within
There is a fountain, that frees the soul from sin
Come to this water; there is a vast supply
There is a river, that never shall run dry.

Thank you Lord for never giving up on me....... help me thirst again for more and more of you, and open my heart to a fresh infilling of your Holy Spirit...... emoticon

Thank you dear Editor, below is my poem.

When God Closes a Door,
He Opens a Window©

God you know my every need
though I may not understand,
I want everything out of greed
yet, I must heed Your command.

Gracious ways - please show me
to ease thoughts of demand,
open my eyes Lord so I may see,
so that I will comprehend.

Close the doors that You must
open many windows wide,
Lord once again Iíll learn to trust
all doubts Iíll push aside.

All days are number Lord I know
as You look upon my face,
Help me Lord so I may grow
more in Your saving grace.

An interesting observation found in the Amplified Bible is in the 1st chapter of Genesis God clearly communicates His desire for our lives to be fruitful. Two things necessary to live fruitful lives are balance and pruning. To stay balanced we need to make sure we get the right amounts of healthy nourishment, rest, work, play, time alone with God, and time to enjoy godly relationships.

Pruning is not always pleasant, but it does ensure that the situations, or relationships that are depleting us will not continue to do so. It means something must be cut off or removed from our lives, but God promises great reward as a a result--more fruitfulness than ever!
