I just have to share with you the great news about my cardio visit on Thursday.
I last was to see the cardiologist in December and had the percentine test (spelling?). That showed I had no artery blockages. That was a great news day.
This time I had an echo cardiogram and was scheduled for the next day for a trans esophageal test (spelled wrong I think), (under an anesthetic they stick a tube down your throat and take pictures or something).
Anyway I went with some trepidation but when we met with the Doctor after he got the results from the echo he said my heart function had improved since last year and he really felt there wasn't a need to subject me to the procedure. Plus my blood pressure was 118/78 and unless I was experiencing problems - which I'm not - we would just leave things as they are. My Atrial Fib is well controlled by my meds so he will schedule me for a checkup again next year!!!
Oh my heart is so happy!!!
This proves my hard work is paying off. I have been exercising lots and continuing to follow my Spark nutrition plan. Well, mostly! I had been getting a little lax lately. This just spurs me on to greater efforts. To know that I can control in large measure my heart health is so empowering. One of my major goals on joining Spark People was to improve my heart and lung capacity by losing weight, exercising more and eating nutritiously. Looks like my Plan is working.
To reward myself I bought the whole trio of Physician's Formula face cream for aging, Night, Day and Eye specialty creams. I am so worth it. I'm feeling younger and stronger and I might as well look younger too!! (You might have read my blog "When I'm 64".)
