Our new microwave arrived today! Woo hoo!

Unfortunately our elation was tempered when we realized it was causing the breaker to flip. Repeatedly. The old one never had, but for some reason, this one did.

I resigned myself to a microwaveless weekend, and placing a call to maintenance on Monday. Dh, on the other hand, was much more proactive. He said he was going to go rinse the soda cans for recycling, and do a load of dishes. He was in there for a long time. A really long time. I heard him crashing and banging around in there, but I didn't get up to go see what he was doing.

After a really long time, he stepped out of the kitchen and told me to come. When I walked in, my whole kitchen had been flipped around. He had rearranged everything so the microwave could be on it's own breaker. The blender/coffee pot/slow cooker are now where the microwave was, the microwave is where the toaster and George were, and the toaster and George are where the blender/coffee pot/slow cooker were. Here's what it looks like now...

When I walked in there, I was kinda... out of sorts. My kitchen had been the same for 12 years, and now everything was somewhere else. Dh was laughing at me cause I kept walking around and slightly adjusting things and trying to take it all in. I know, in the grand scheme of life, not a big deal. But I'm totally excited about cooking now! I wanna go play in my new kitchen. Hopefully the kitchen rearranging will be just the kick start I need to get back to spending a lot more time in the kitchen!

All in all, today has been a really good day. My back has bothered me a lot, but that's the only crappy part of the day. I've eaten really well today, and am within 2 hours of going to bed without going off plan all day.

Since I now have a microwave, I made a Kashi steam in bag frozen meal. It was Chicken Fettuccini. I added half a can of petite diced tomatoes to give it more bulk, and it was delicious! It's a smaller portion than I'd like, but I think that's owing to the massive portions I've gotten used to eating, and not a fault of the meal itself. I seem to be having great luck with frozen meals this week!

I didn't do any exercise today, but I knew it was better to let my back rest. I sat in the floor and sorted through some boxes. And I went in the store and got a salad and some soup. That was pretty much all the "activity" I had for the day. I don't consider that a negative, though. Just working within my {current} limitations.

I know I sounded kinda blah in my earlier entry this morning, and I was. Dh was at work, I was bored and couldn't do anything -- basically, I was just crappy. But after dh got off, the day just kept getting better. And now I'm sitting at the end of a healthy day with a new kitchen!

    Wow that was so nice of our husband. When I was married mine did not know we even had a kitchen.

    I hope the new kitchen arraingment works for you. I'm pretty sure I'd be lost and confused if I ever rearranged mine. emoticon

    Here is my suggestion on how to deal with triglycerides:

1) Avoid sitting for more than 4 hours per day. If you have a desk job, see if you can put in a stand up desk. See my page for info. If you do a lot of sitting at home, see what activities you do and change that to standing. Don't stand the whole time either, take breaks from standing too. Getting up, sitting down is all good as long as there is no prolonged sitting.

This link explained what happened when you sit for long period. Lipoprotein Lipase, a key enzyme that digests fats in your blood, stops working on prolonged sitting.

These are the two things I've done and it has lowered my triglycerides. I've 2 blood tests that confirm this. Of course, it may not work for everyone, but everything I do, I have research to back it up and then my own results.

I will deal with the other issues later. This is a good start for you to do research. Good luck.

P.S. I do not suggest exercise because it doesn't work. Exercises work, but people will not do them. It's best to focus on inactivity like sitting. Just like you don't focus on weight because it doesn't work. Likewise, I don't focus on exercise.

    I hope moving things around works for you. I cannot use my microwave and my dishwasher at the same time without tripping the breaker and I have lived with it for over 21 years now. Don't know what would happen if I moved the microwave to a different location. Something to think about though.
