So, today, I was concerned.
We had an "event" today. I had no idea what to expect. It was at a hospital (it was a NICU reunion party, so I was hoping for healthy.
So, we get there, and get food for my little one. Chick fil a chicken nuggets, apple slices, grapes, a huge veggie tray, mini condoms, cupcakes and these giant, amazing looking chocolate chunk cookies.
Chick fil a nuggets are the best, because though they are fried, they are whole chicken chunks, not garbage. So, I got her 3, grapes apple's and carrots, all her favorites. Then I got myself some nuggets, fruits and veggies, and ignored the junk food. I wanted the junk food. My, ahem, special time, is here, and I want junk then more than any other time.
So, I kept ignoring it. My husband even ate a cupcake, and I avoided it. I kept saying that I hoped the cookies would go away, because they looked amazing!
We had a blast, had pictures taken, and I didn't eat any cookies!
I did give into my cravings later and we had pizza for dinner, but after it all, I stayed in my calorie range!
Go me! I'm actually doing things right!
I'm surprised at my success, but so thrilled that those things that I'm learning good real habits. Thank you Sparkpeople. This is working!
