Day 540 - 10k today

I ran my 10k this morning in 63:17. It was a chilly 41 degrees so I bundled up pretty good but had to shed the gloves about 2 miles in. My GPS showed that I ran 5.66 miles and when I used the map my route function it showed the length 5.7 miles. I was kind of disappointed that it wasn't a full 10k but I had a good run. My average pace was 11:11 and my first mile averaged 10:31 - overall, not bad for a first 10k at the beginning of the year.

I bought my T-shirt in a small and it's snug (tired of the extra big Mediums, though) and I'm going to use that as a sort of gauge of my fitness level. I've gained about 5 lbs back over the winter and it always seem to settle in the same spots. I can tell I haven't done my Slim in 6 videos and weight training lately. Got to get the pudge off the middle and slim a few more choice spots - definitely need to tighten some stuff up!!

Overall - I'd have to say that the 10k was successful and I may try to run another one this summer. My daughter and I are considering the Omaha Half Marathon in September - I'm going to keep training for it whether we do it or not.
