Getting back to my normal.

Saturday, April 20, 2013

Sorry I wasn't around last night. I fell asleep less than an hour after I got home. I guess I was exhausted because I didn't even remember going to bed last night, just waking up at 5 this morning.

I got up this am fully intending on going to the Dunes. I wanted to go for my first hike of the season. Snow and 30 degrees ended that quickly. It is always colder at the Dune than here and there was a nice layer of ice on my car.

Hubby took me to breakfast, were I SO over ate and then out shopping. I got my first "running" training book, some clothes, and a new dog collar. I like picking my own gifts, so that was fun.

Hubby the opportunity to earn some extra cash tonight, so I'm on my own. I did, however get the girls out for their first walk in over a week. I have a new "Buddy System" waist leash that I can hook them both up to. Took them about half a mile to figure out that they can't crisss-cross anymore or it tangles THEM up. Once they each picked a side we were golden. I didn't want to push them too hard, so we only did about 3.5 miles. We ran about half of that but not all at once.

I didn't realize how much I love running with my girls until I couldn't for this last week and then got them back. Let's just say, even Tazzy's pulling for more speed was fun. We even passed bikes without incident. I was so proud of my girls.

Now we are just hanging out in the living room. I'm going to dig into my new book. I'm hoping this help me be a better runner. I've really found a love and passion for running but I'm not very good at it.

Hopefully this book will help. I would love to be able to exhaust the Fuzzy Personal Trainer again. That hasn't happened since last summer.

Sounds like a great birthday, and its wonderful that the girls are doing so much better! Sounds like a cool leash- we have the double leash which works pretty good most days when we were able to walk everyone-the belt sounds like if cool.

And, Happy Birthday!

Now I know the name of what I saw this week that I thought was so cool!
I saw someone using the "Buddy System" waist leash this week and her dogs looked so happy to be out in pack formation.

I use to love to run! I was doing the C25K program and was on my 3rd week but the pain in my hip from bursitis made me stop. I just couldn't deal with the pain anymore. I swore I'd try it again but I haven't and that was a couple of years ago. Maybe one of these days I'll try it again. I hope that the book is helpful to you!

I'm glad to hear that your girls are feeling better! emoticon emoticon emoticon

At this point,I would get passed up by a herd of turtles. I would be kicking the snails butt though. Good job.

Wow I can't imagine trying to run with not one, but two good sized canines waist leashed! Not only do you have talent, but also some serious strength! I would so have been pulled into a ditch, wrapped around a telephone pole with a concussion if I tried something like that. lol Way to go! emoticon

Fill us in on your new book. Glad your girls are doing so much better. I ran with Cooper today, but he is easily distractable so we run intervals.

I love to hear that the girls are feeling so well now!

Animals are great, and the poor things should not have to suffer.
