Surprising Saturday 4/20/13

Saturday, April 20, 2013

When I got on the scale this morning I had a big surprise! After complaining about being stuck on the same weight for 3 weeks; I actually lost a pound! emoticon

I know 1 lb. isn't a lot but I will surely take it! That means I am down 15 pounds since I started Spark People! emoticon

I had lost some weight over the past couple of years (before SP) so I actually weigh a total of 24 pounds less than my previous weight. (The weight I always ended up at when I would go off my "diet"!) I always blamed it on my "set point" but if I have one of those I am going to change it!! emoticon

I am also excited that I I have gone down a few sizes this season. At one time I was wearing size 14 shorts and I just bought 2 new in a size 10! emoticon I hope I'm not being too boastful but it sure feels good!

Best of all; my blood sugar has greatly improved, my blood pressure has gone down, and I feel so much healthier. I can't wait to see my doctor when I get home in May. I told him I was going to get healthier (lose weight) but I have been saying that for years. emoticon

I have to give credit to Spark People. I have used my nutrition tracker every day, and I have been on the message boards and team pages where I got lots of encouragement and great tips from all of you. You were all right when you said never, never give up.

What do you mean, "1 pound isn't a lot" - 1 pound is a START, it is also a reasonable amount to lose at one time, and it broke your plateau - so to me, it looks to me like a WHOLE LOT FOR A POUND TO DO FOR YOU,

Losing 1 pound is awesome!! I hope you continue on the path of weight loss and it continues easily. In the meantime, "ten mucho cuidado" means "take good care".
