Tiredness sneaks in

Saturday, April 20, 2013

I was ready to set the world on fire today. I got up early. Alas, I felt exhausted after I marketed and put the items away. My doctor does not want me to lift more than 10 pounds. This avid exerciser is attempting to listen.

By afternoon, I needed a nap. Then I was ready to cook, process the mail and so much more.

Sometimes the body just says it's time to rest and heal. I'm sure you listened to it, too. I remember my husband after a surgery telling me that he was supposed to not lift heavy items. At his checkup the Dr. asked if he was still sticking to that order and DH told him "I don't lift anything over 100lbs". The doctor explained that light meant 20 or less. I'm sure he was not impressed with my husband's ability to follow instructions.

Agree. Things will change, but the body has its own pace for healing.

Sometimes, we just have to give in and make the best of the energy we have for that day. Because of health problems, I usually have a nap almost every day. I stopped thinking it was a wasted hour or 2 and now thing of it as my rejuvenation.
