Looking forward to Better Days...

Saturday, April 20, 2013

Such a sense of relief on the Boston Situation.
I really felt a sinking feeling when authorities announced that they felt they had lost the suspect and were preparing to wrap things up.
And then...they found him....alive.

you have to wonder if heaven was watching out for the man who found the suspect in his boat. After all that had happened, the suspect was probably weaker and more disoriented than ever. Had the man gone out to check earlier ...
who knows what might have occurred.

some closure

The NYC marathon is coming up...
I'm sure people will be much more aware of what goes on around them.
I hope the event shows the world how resilient America is.
I don't do crowds...I'll be cheering them on in spirit.

I've already seen a TV ad from NJ warning people to report any abandoned parcels or bags to the police dept.

But life goes on.
Adjust, Adapt, and keep moving forward.

Going for a nice long walk today....no TV

I know I have that old vague sense of uneasiness that followed the 9/11 disaster. Honestly, I still can't go to New York. My DH used to work on Wall Street, and took the PATH into the World Trade Center every day, then walked from there. I was so grateful that we had moved to FL, because it was the time of day he would have been there. He lost friends and clients there.

But this one makes me want to fight back. I want to say "This is OUR country!" and go where I want to go, do what I want to do without fear. OK, so I will always have fear, but I want to do it anyway!!

I specialize in paranoia. I have been scanning my universe for abandoned bags and parcels from birth. I don't like crowds so when I have to be in one I'm plotting escape routes, identifying potential nut-jobs, avoiding ricin. Earlier in the week I called my neighbor at work to tell her there was a strange car in her driveway and the day before 2 power trucks were there. It was her new housekeeper. The power company was taking down there dust to dawn light. She thanked me for watching their house as they have been robbed twice. I urged her to get a security system. Everyone should have one. We used ours to watch the Amish build our pole barn. LOL.

Things like this just shouldn't happen here but the reality is they do. We do need to be more cautious and less sure of our safety. Hugs to you.

You are so right about adapting and moving forward.......it's been an incredibly tense week - who knows what danger would have had to be faced if we did'nt get a quick resolution to the issue?

  Hi Sheryl.........
You are absolutely right!!!!! All we can do is move forward and live our lives as fully as possible...........concentrate on the good and not let the bad suck the life out of us. It isn't easy, but we do seem to become stronger because of it.
Have a great weekend.

Your right, life goes on. We are going to have to adjust and adapt. We need to consider our security. We also are going to have to do what the British have done and take garbage cans and other containers off the sidewalk.

Have a good walk and a relaxing weekend.

The resiliency and adaptability of the human is not only seen in tragedies and they aftermath but also in our health and weight journeys. Those who adapt and refuse to give up are the ones who eventually meet with the most successes. Have a lovely blessed day today and move forward in confidence.
