Up this week...

Saturday, April 20, 2013

1.4, to be exact. What??? This week Iíve gotten more exercise than I have in months. My eating has been on track. Go figure.

Iíll admit, Iím a tad annoyed, but Iím not going to wallow or let myself get too worked up about it. It is Ďthat weekí and there are things that are just beyond our control when it comes to this form of measurement (#s on a scale). I know weight can crazy-fluctuate just over the course of a day. So Iíll take this with a grain of salt, keep going with my good decisions and hope for a happier number next week. Iíll also keep in mind another form of measurement, clothing sizes, and think of the pair of jean capris that I wore last summer, that when I put them on yesterday, they would barely stay up. I had to put two big safety pins in the back of the waistband in order to wear them. Time for another shopping trip!

Have a good week, everyone. Itís been a rather scary one here in MA. Glad theyíve caught the remaining living ******* who caused such pain, destruction, and turmoil. Now itís time for some healing and back to normalcy, whatever that is. For the second time this school year, I find myself a little nervous about heading back to school (weíve been on vacation) and how to deal with the little ones and their questions. Weíll get through it, Iím sure. Itís just sad that we have to deal with yet another tragic event.

I am sorry for all the tragic events you've had to deal with. I know it is hard to explain that to little ones who don't understand.

The safety pins are proof in the pudding, my dear! Keep working hard and the scale will reflect that. :)

I am sad you have to deal with another tragic event as well. The weight could just be water retention. Glad that you are ok. Prayers going out to you guys in the MA area!

It sounds like your weight might be increasing due to the change in your body composition. If your clothes are loose and your weight is up then the flab has changed to muscle which weighs more. The scale is just one of the ways to track you success. Okay I sound like a know it all but i have the same issue.

Glad life is better for the people in Boston. I feel the Boston Marathon will not the same, as it will actually be even better. The security measures this time next year will be much improved and the scenery will be great. There are die hard marathoners that will run in the middle of a battle zone. My brother is one of them.

Your students have an opportunity to learn more about the politics and history of this great nation. They can be lead away from the negative and instead learn the greatness of the USA and Boston! Have a great week! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Well a small gain isn't a bad thing in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps it's water retention from all of those grains of salt you've been taking?? :)

I hope you have a rather in-auspicious return to school and that normalcy reigns supreme once again!

What a horrendous week! It has been painfully stressful! Grateful that no one
close to me was injured although I do know one of the young ladies who is still hospitalized! All the stories are amazing! My daughter and friends were there on Boyleston Street on Monday. The marathon will never quite be the same but in the true nature of Boston we will be STRONG!
For some weight gain, be gentle with are still so motivated and continue to be an inspiration for me! I am sure the scale will be your friend again soon!
Have a good week!

You said capris and that you had to put safety pins in them. Besides the obvious weight loss (which is amazing), does that also mean you FINALLY have some decent weather?! :)

I have a love-hate relationship with my scale and some weeks, I just decide that it forgot how to count properly! :) Glad you have a good attitude about it.

I can't imagine what types of questions you get at school. Your students are lucky to have a caring teacher like you to take the time to explain to them some of the crazy mixed up things that happen in this world. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

The scale can be so unpredictable... but jean capris, on the other hand, are pretty reliable. That's awesome that you've made such progress that they don't even fit anymore!
I'm in MA too, and it has certainly been a crazy week. I'm so thankful they caught this guy, and we can all return to a degree of normalcy. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

My weight fluctuates 1-3 lbs on any given morning depending on the water that I drink. When I am serious and really drink my water the scale reflects my real weight. when I don't, I retain fluid horribly and then the scale goes up for a day or two. When you look back at your tracker of food and add up the calories, etc. there is no possible way you have gained weight. Its just our female bodies!!! I am thinking of you and your whole State and pray for comfort!!! I just cannot understand how people can do this!! Keep on doing what you do, and drink that water!!!

Have a happy Saturday!
