Is it really April?

Saturday, April 20, 2013

Hi to all my spark friends!
Here in Minnesota, we still have way to much snow.
This is a picture I took yesterday morning on my way in to work. Thank goodness for skyways and tunnels here in the frozen tundra state!
Tomorrow is my 10 month anniversary on Spark People and I was suppose to be at my first goal weight 2 months ago but I didn't quite make it.
That is simply ok with me because as I have learned, it is not about the destination, it is all about the journey and I have managed to lose 33 lbs so that is quite an accomplishment to me.
I have met so many friends along my journey that continue to inspire and spark me to continue on and to fight to get healthier everyday.
I had to put away a pair of my jeans that were once so snug I couldn't hardly button them and now they are so big on me they will fall off if I don't have a belt on.
I reset my weight goal to 5 lbs lower than the original goal and put the date of June 21st which will be by one year anniversary here. I may or may not reach it depending on how my body decides to act, but again, it is only a number and I am ok if I don't reach that exact number. I know that I will try my hardest by continuing to exercise and count those calories, but sometimes in spite of that, the body doesn't want to let go of some of the weight.
I know that I am hoping for Spring to get here so I can get outside again. I am not a fan of cold weather so I don't brave the elements.
Let's keep on fighting this battle until we are all healthier and leaner and most importantly, let's all learn to love ourselves regardless of the number on the scale!
Have a great weekend! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Goodness Holly, I still can't believe all that snow!!
You are right losing 33lbs is a great accomplishment. It was hard to lose the weight for me when I got close to my goal, I think we get more anxious. Remain calm you have the right idea. Also you started running, maybe you have built up some muscle. You also said your jeans were falling off, woo hoo! Good work. Did you check your measurements? You may be smaller than you think.
When you can finally get outside in that sunshine it will make a world of difference. I don't want to be inside now. But I need to clean house tomorrow.lo!
And yes, we do need to love ourselves regardless of that number. Spark on. emoticon Jackie emoticon emoticon emoticon

What a great attitude! Setting goals, but being flexible about them, is really hard for me. I need to take a page out of your book and learn to do it!

Congratulations on losing 33 lbs, that's awesome! And good luck on your next 5.

Hope the snow goes away soon!

Congratulations on your commitment to the journey!
Even though the snow impedes outdoor fitness, I'm hoping that the beautiful white stuff will continue to nourish the earth in Minnesota so that the drought fades completely! emoticon

    emoticon on your Spark successes!!!

I live in Wisconsin so I understand your pain regarding this winter which has become, quite frankly, a pain. People say it will end eventually but there are days I wonder. I hope you are getting sunshine today!!!

Your way of thinking is right on. Through this journey I have set and reset weight loss goals. They are only numbers...but the greatest part of the journey is the learning process and knowing we are a work in progress and will be forever....Have a great weekend. Will be sending you some extra sunshine to help melt that pesky snow. emoticon emoticon

You have such a positive voice! Real spring is slow in coming to upstate NY, but nowhere near you. Here's hoping the emoticon will disappear soon and emoticon emoticon emoticon will come!
