I returned to work yesterday following an Avastin eye injection the afternoon before. It went pretty well but I did a lot of closing of the right eye so I could see better with the good one. I remembered one of our coworkers had only one eye and he seemed to be able to work well. He was let go because I think he goofed off a lot so was not as productive as he should have been.
My pace was a little slower on some of my tasks due to having difficulty reading small print but I have overcome this before with a magnifying glass which I will bring to work on Tuesday. I have asked for Monday off to have a mental health day and to process the changes to my vision. Hopefully I will regain the vision I had before in the right eye but was told it could take several months. I have asked people I know who are spiritual to pray for me and I have several in my office who said they would. I told them I plan to start praying again as I do believe in the power of prayer. I had a scare in the past, about 12 or 15 years ago when my daughter had an eye infection that caused scarring on the retina and she was told by the doctor she might go blind (both eyes). The doctors said they had no explanation for her amazing recovery which occurred after 2-3 weeks with several churches praying for her. She was a skeptic but believes in prayer since that experience
