E2L: Embracing Day One

Today I'm starting the Eat To Live Program, based on the book by Dr. Joel Fuhrman.

I've taken out a second mortgage on my home to pay for healthy food, and I've loaded my fridge with foods I've never tried before. (Are you sure kale is edible?)

Just had what might be my last cup of coffee, and I had a banana to start the day.

Now I'm off to Whole Foods to look for things I know nothing about; chia (not the pet, apparently), hemp (are we getting high?) and/or flax seeds.

Maybe if I get stoned, I'll buy some of the dreaded tofu after all!

    And I don't really like salads, so that's hard so far.
    But I like the rest of it.
    I'm sure I can find a way to make this work for me.

    I noticed I can not eat all the stuff on his diet and find I am doing well with mine. I have oatmeal and blueberries for breakdast, chicken, fish, size of a deck of cards for lunch with veggies, or a salad, tea, jello, even squeeze in some pastry, and a bagel and banana for supper. So far, I am losing and when I gain, lose it in a week, or less, depending on how much I gained. Of course sweets are not allowed in the house. I don't have to worry about any company bringing them in either because my watch dog Hailey won't let them in. LOL I find your stomach shrinks in two weeks and if you keep it up you lose. My weakness is bread, rather statches, which takes us to sweets which is also sugar. But as I traveled along the highway of good health, I went from a size 20 to a size 8 and back to a size l6 and down to a size l2. I have been given clothes away but now I wonder if I should keep them. LoL Good luck with your new diet but watch the roughage. Too much salads and veggies can leave you with embrassment, especially if you are doing errands. LOL emoticon
