Food Tracking, and Eating in the Target.

Saturday, April 20, 2013

I've just made up my mind at 3:13 AM that tomorrow, when I get up, I will begin food tracking and eating within the very middle circles on the Target diet. I will track on paper, which seems less cumberwsome for me than following the Spark food tracker. Also, the center of the Target means lower in carbs, lower in saturated fat, and high fiber. Of course, I also want to get a good share of healthy vegetables, and more fruit except for trocpical style fruits, which are often much higher in sugar. THAT is my new plan. Glenn

Tracking your food is a key ingredient in the overall game plan to a healthy lifestyle. How you do it is up to you. As long as you achieve your goals, it does not matter.

    Good luck!

I use the Spark tracker and it's fine since I've gotten used to it. But I also have a note pad in the kitchen where I jot things down that are out of the ordinary, such as "two mac. nuts" or something like that....... Then I add them in at the end of the day when I'm finalizing the tracker for the day.

I think tracking, no matter how you do it, is Very important.

I also find the spark tracker cumbersome. I use a spreadsheet, with a second page with commonly used foods for easy tracking of macronutrients.

I think the best way to track is the one that works for you. I keep a little white board in the kitchen, so I can jot stuff down as I throw a meal together, then I add it to the Spark tracker after a bit.
Good luck with the new plan. Hope it's perfect for you!
