Driving I-5, Sightseeing in Lake Tahoe, Day 33 Tracking

Saturday, April 20, 2013

We are in Grants Pass, OR tonight. Tomorrow we are going to Reno/Lake Tahoe for a quick look around before going on to Las Vegas. We need to stay well rested because when we arrive on LV we are - the nurse, chef, maid, chaffeur, gardener, shopper, etc. while our daughter recovers from spinal surgery.

I ordered hubby a Fitbit One and he just got it. He has to set up his account. He does daily morning walks and weekly 10K's. When we were in Mexico, we started doing 6 AM walks on the beach (8 AM our time). I suggested that when we got home we continue doing early morning walks before getting ready for the day. We did one together, and on Day 2 I came down with croup - but he has continued with the early morning walks and I am so proud of him! I think some days with walking and other things he does 17,000 steps, but now he will know for sure.

I packed my scale so I can continue weighing in daily. Tomorrow I am starting my daily walking streak.

Have fun this weekend!

I LOVE my fitbit...I call her Fiona...she is my new best friend and I've worn her faithfully since I got her 11/24/12. She really spurs me on to get in my steps and I usually hit 10,000-15,000 daily. I also get about 10 flights of steps in due to the fact that we have a huge set of steps up to our balcony area at our consignment gallery. I'm bounding up and down daily for customer questions etc. Sometimes I go up and down just for the exercise.

I also have the aria scale that wirelessly hooks up with the it too! Everything posts to my spark account THAT!

Take care and I'm sending love and light to your daughter during her surgery and her recovery. She is lucky to have such devoted parents! emoticon emoticon

I would love to take the drive you are taking and go to Lake Tahoe/Reno.

I am considering a Fitbit. Everyone seems to really get a lot out of them.

Congrats on so many things that are working for you. I love to do some exercise in the morning (usually do yoga sun salutations) so I always have 30 minutes of something everyday right off the bat. For some reason, it's easier to work in my walks, etc as an addition rather than the start. I don't claim to understand it, that's how it works for me. I wonder if your morning walks do the same for you.
Best wishes for a successful surgery for your daughter and a speedy recovery for her. Safe travels.

It is so funny, when you are in Tahoe, I am in Las Vegas. When you are coming to Las Vegas, I am going to Tahoe. Have a wonderful time in both places! They are quite different for sure!
