What a day!! I don't know if I can take it all in!
My day started out so wonderfully! I slept a little late...accidentally, but I made it work.
I had breakfast and spent some time in the Word. I have to say I had an amazing time with the Lord today!! If that was all my day was about that would have made it a marvelous day!! I read I Peter chapter 1. It talks about what Christ did for us, and our salvation and what it means and how our lives are so brief, but how we spend eternity is what it's all about. I don't know...I've read it before, but it was so real today. I wanted to get up and dance. I almost did! I had to stop and just praise Jesus. I spent some great time...me and Jesus. My suggestion...pull out your Bible and read I Peter 1.
I got my day planned out on my nutrition chart. I felt really good about that. I was still a little rushed in getting my shower done, getting ready for work and getting my lunch packed. But I wouldn't trade that time with the Lord for anything.
I was so touched that my day at work just flew! Thank goodness I had K-LOVE so I just keep praising Him all day. Talk about your good Friday!
Ariel texted me and told me that she was talking with her team design consultant today. He works for HDR, one of the largest engineering firms here in Omaha. He asked if anyone on her team knew of someone looking for internship this summer. She wanted to leap for joy. She told him she was actually looking for something for about 2 months. He said that was perfect. That was about what he needed. He asked her to forward her resume and he would get back to her and have her fill out an HR app. God is so faithful!! She was so concerned about what she was going to do this summer. Then she got a call from the company she interviewed with in Kansas City last month. She really didn't think she would hear from them because it had been awhile. The lady she had been in contact with throughout the process knew about her possible decision to pursue her PhD. She called to ask if Ariel had made a decision. She told her she was choosing to return to school this fall. She said she really got the impression she had called to offer her a job. She said the power and distribution division of the firm was really interested in her. She told Ariel to please keep in touch with her. What a great contact!! This is a major engineering firm in the country. She is starting to realize that when she is done with her PhD she may not be limited to just teaching. It looks like there is room for her in the industry with the right firms.
After I got off work I went home and let Lucy out and then headed into Bellevue to get my hair cut. Peg and I talked about Ariel's upcoming graduation and her future. We also talked about Andrew being one of the pilots getting to make the flight to South Korea in the B-2 a few weeks ago. I have to say God has really blessed my children.
I stopped on the way home and got a new headlight. Thank goodness for places like Advance Auto Parts that put things like that in for women like me who wouldn't have a clue!
I got home and right away took Lucy out for a walk. She's so funny. I let her out of her kennel and I said "Lucy you want to go for walk?" I made a pit-stop in the bathroom and when I came out I found her sitting by the patio door. I just laughed out loud. I guess she was ready.
I accomplished a new personal best tonight. I walked further than I ever have and when I got home I realized I had done it in the same amount of time as what was my previous best distance. Yay for me!!
I had a quick snack when I got back. It was already 8:30. I got on SparkPeople and filled out my fitness minutes and checked in with SparkCoach and read a couple of related articles. While I was doing that I was watching the news coverage of what was going in Boston. Praise Jesus!! They got the last scoundrel that has caused so much heartache over the past 4 days. I hope they learn something from him.
I put in a microwave WW pizza and finally had dinner. It was yummy!!
On the nightly news they talked a little bit more about what was going on in West, TX. For some reason this tragedy has just captured my heart. I just can't stop praying for this town and it's people. I just want to wrap my arms around the whole little city. I pray that's what the Lord does for them.
As I said at the top, it has been a marvelous day!
Tomorrow I get to go fellowship with the wonderful ladies of my church. I am really looking forward to that.
I hope you all have a wonderful week-end. I'll be here again tomorrow :)
Blessings to you one and all
Keep on keepin on
